Question 90lumina idling @3000rpms?????

3.1 v6
anyone have any ideas for why this is?? any suggestions would be appreciated.

Test The throttle position sensor and pull of the IAC motor and clean the passage and motor itself. They tend to get carboned up.

Look for a big vacuum leak, like the power brake hose or the PCV.

I have a 96 Lumina that when the engine gets warm it revs up. I have to shut the car off and then it will run fine for a while then it will do it again. It can go days without doing it. Is that the same thing yours is doing? I don't know how to post a new thread on here. Sorry
