what to do about the oil cooler lines???

Ok im working on installing a 88 5.7 into my 66 chev panel truck, the issue is the oil cooler lines can i just plug the line holes and call it good? or do I have to run a loop of line so the oil can run thru it.

What I mean is will i cause any harm by just plugging the oil holes on the adaptor?

Thanks brian kc0kfg

If you are going to do that you need to put on a spin on adapter. You will not get oil to your engine if you rig it as you say.

Maybe just me but why would you want to plug the oil cooler off?
They help the life of your oil, which helps extend the life of your engine,
just run the lines and install a cooler in it, just my opinion.

Re: what to do about the oil cooler lines???

I'm about to plug mine right now. Guy at the junk yard said that would work and the forum verified it. I'll repost with details after I do it if it works. Or even if it doesn't.

Guy at the junkyard says a lot of motors are lost when the lines blow.
