Any suggestions? My cavalier is a 1996 2.2l automatic if u needed that information .. my99cavy 07-23-2006, 11:01 PM as far as the power window conversion i would talk to 01cavy. he resently made a thread about converting his 4 door to power. check with him. heres the thread he made http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=590587&highlight=power+windows Cap0ni 07-23-2006, 11:18 PM i would do what my99 said. :bananadie Classicrocjunkie 07-24-2006, 01:41 AM I hate wiring... I gave my car to a local shop to install my alarm. Young Chuck D 07-24-2006, 05:03 AM you will be spending close to 400 dollars... my suggestion is get The CLUB and bring your valuables into the house. get a cd player with detachable face. my99cavy 07-24-2006, 02:29 PM I hate wiring... I gave my car to a local shop to install my alarm.yeah it is a pain in the ass the first couple times, but once you get the hang of it it saves you lots of money. plus since you now know how to do it you can charge your buddies to wire the shit they need wired. :grinyes: Lances133 07-24-2006, 04:09 PM Around $700 to have my Viper alarm/remote start installed but it's the best Viper one out and I also had power locks installed. (http://www.drdetailshop.com/respondescreenshots.htm) my99cavy 07-24-2006, 04:14 PM yes viper alarm systems IMO are the best money can buy. a little expensive but alot less cheaper than having to replace stereo equipment, windows, other shit you have in your ride or even your car. Lances133 07-24-2006, 04:23 PM It was also an X-mas present, so none of that $700, came out of my pocket  my99cavy 07-24-2006, 04:24 PM It was also an X-mas present, so none of that $700, came out of my pocket :lol:well see now that is a major plus!!! :grinyes: Cavalier2000 07-24-2006, 05:03 PM yeah it is a pain in the ass the first couple times, but once you get the hang of it it saves you lots of money. plus since you now know how to do it you can charge your buddies to wire the shit they need wired. :grinyes: well then get you ass down here to st. louis and wire me up a alarm lol my99cavy 07-24-2006, 05:08 PM well then get you ass down here to st. louis and wire me up a alarm lolwell normally i do drive places to do that work but i think that might be a little far for me sorry.:grinyes: Cavalier2000 07-24-2006, 05:09 PM lol i would imagine. do they sell the viper kits online somewhere for a decent price my99cavy 07-24-2006, 05:11 PM im sure they do. havent looked around though. all my buddies and i get ours through local custom car shops. you could always check ebay lol you always find shit for cheap on there Cap0ni 07-24-2006, 05:45 PM you will be spending close to 400 dollars... my suggestion is get The CLUB and bring your valuables into the house. get a cd player with detachable face. dont forget to take out those speakers, amp, new wheels, and the box or reeses pieces from your console.... ghetto kidlets spare nothing! wiring an alarm really isnt that difficult, just time consuming if you havent played with wires... or your car before. :icon16: my99cavy 07-24-2006, 05:51 PM yes the only real purpose of the club is so that they cant steal the whole car. so taking everything inside with you isnt going to work. so your saying when i go to lets say dinner in the city, i should bring in all my stereo equipment and everything else worth money into the resaurant with me??:screwy: no thank you that wont work. thats why you have a nice alarm system. Young Chuck D 07-24-2006, 06:36 PM dont forget to take out those speakers, amp, new wheels, and the box or reeses pieces from your console.... ghetto kidlets spare nothing! wiring an alarm really isnt that difficult, just time consuming if you havent played with wires... or your car before. :icon16: ok seriously..................... use hex screws for your speakers and amp, get 2 sets of wheel locks, and disable the trunk pop button. Young Chuck D 07-24-2006, 06:39 PM yes the only real purpose of the club is so that they cant steal the whole car. so taking everything inside with you isnt going to work. so your saying when i go to lets say dinner in the city, i should bring in all my stereo equipment and everything else worth money into the resaurant with me??:screwy: no thank you that wont work. thats why you have a nice alarm system. when you go to dinner in the city, do you park in a dark alley or something? i'm not saying alarms aren't useful, i'm just being rational.. they're overpriced. unless you steal one. my99cavy 07-24-2006, 06:41 PM when you go to dinner in the city, do you park in a dark alley or something? i'm not saying alarms aren't useful, i'm just being rational.. they're overpriced. unless you steal one.no i dont park in a dark alley im not that stupid. but its the city people there dont give a shit where you park. if they see something they want they'll get it. yeah i know alarms can be pricey but IMO i think there well worth it. Lances133 07-24-2006, 07:42 PM Doesn't matter where you are or what car you drive, I had my cd deck and sub box with two 10" subs stolen out of my mustang that was a POS except for the audio system, right outta my high school PARKING LOT, in broad DAYLIGHT in suburbia. I won't bother tricking out or adding things to any car unless I get an alarm first, you can't have anything nice nowdays without worrying about some f*ck stealing it. IMO alarms are well worth the money, mine was only so much because of everything else it does, but you should be able to get just an alarm and installed for around 2-300. And I def. think everyone should get one mainly because nowdays people = shit. my99cavy 07-24-2006, 07:47 PM Doesn't matter where you are or what car you drive, I had my cd deck and sub box with two 10" subs stolen out of my mustang that was a POS except for the audio system, right outta my high school PARKING LOT, in broad DAYLIGHT in suburbia. And I def. think everyone should get one mainly because nowdays people = shit........exactly  Young Chuck D 07-25-2006, 01:19 AM i guess i just live in a safer area than you all.... these mexicans want civics and camrys and what not, they don't really mess with american cars... in my opinion, alarms and insurance are the devil. Cavalier2000 07-25-2006, 09:53 AM most people have their systems stolen by their neighbors or friends, thats what happens when you show it off. and the club does nothing, i could show you in 30 seconds how to pop one off, and no I do not steal cars Young Chuck D 07-25-2006, 10:06 AM most people have their systems stolen by their neighbors or friends, thats what happens when you show it off. and the club does nothing, i could show you in 30 seconds how to pop one off, and no I do not steal cars some don't know who their friends are... i dunno, maybe i have like this aura around me keeping thieves off.... divine intervention maybe? Cavalier2000 07-25-2006, 10:52 AM a REAL good friend of mine has the same aura, but he is also a master marksmen and has about 15k in guns and amo in the basement my99cavy 07-25-2006, 01:34 PM most people have their systems stolen by their neighbors or friends, thats what happens when you show it off. and the club does nothing, i could show you in 30 seconds how to pop one off, and no I do not steal carswell i could do it in about 20 seconds tops!! considering i am in the locksmith buisness and i do this shit almost everyday. top that one cav2000 lol j/k my99cavy 07-25-2006, 01:36 PM no one messes with my shit purely because they know who i am. i dont need no guns or weapons to be tuff and intimidating. Cavalier2000 07-25-2006, 01:39 PM well i could do it in about 20 seconds tops!! considering i am in the locksmith buisness and i do this shit almost everyday. top that one cav2000 lol j/k 30 seconds no tools, haha got you fucker lol edit: the 30 seconds includes getting in the car my99cavy 07-25-2006, 01:48 PM 30 seconds no tools, haha got you fucker lol edit: the 30 seconds includes getting in the car shit you got me there :banghead: :banghead: how do you go about doing it if i may ask?? Cavalier2000 07-25-2006, 03:57 PM put the seat all the way back and the put yourself tight against the seat, lift your right leg and kick as hard as you can in the "right" spot. it bends just a wee bit then you just push it forward. They are cheap pieces of shit my99cavy 07-25-2006, 04:01 PM put the seat all the way back and the put yourself tight against the seat, lift your right leg and kick as hard as you can in the "right" spot. it bends just a wee bit then you just push it forward. They are cheap pieces of shit:rofl:  jeez well that is one way of going about it. yeah i know they are pretty f-ing cheap. Cavalier2000 07-25-2006, 04:25 PM sad part is people depend on them noshun 07-25-2006, 04:53 PM you will be spending close to 400 dollars... my suggestion is get The CLUB and bring your valuables into the house. get a cd player with detachable face. takes me 5 seconds to remove most clubs! and I don't mean with a key!! ;) Cap0ni 07-25-2006, 06:06 PM ok seriously..................... use hex screws for your speakers and amp, get 2 sets of wheel locks, and disable the trunk pop button. meanwhile they use a crowbar to bend the back seat down, or pop the trunk open and hack the shit out of your ride to get everything out. im not a pro crook but im sure there are ways to steal wheels that are locked... hell i take my steering wheel in the house with me but im sure someone out there has a universal quick hub thatll work just fine in my car. you must live in hollywood or something. if you have crap in your car it dont matter if you have it bolted down, ghetto kidlets will get it out, and if they cant they will destroy your car in the process of trying. there is no way you can bolt down every single valuable in your vehicle it not feasable. people are willing to steal anything and everything. alarms are a worthy investment even if your running stock everything, as long as the car is worth more than a bigmac and fries. not only is it a deterrant, but its a friggin nice warning for when some nugget is rummaging through your shit looking for any bottle of tic tacs you left in your car while your watching the facts of life. Cavalier2000 07-25-2006, 06:46 PM as long as your alarm has a battery back up. it's to easy to crawl under a car and cut wires Cap0ni 07-25-2006, 07:01 PM as long as your alarm has a battery back up. it's to easy to crawl under a car and cut wires its easy to wire an alarm so that crawling under the car and cutting wires does nothing but look like they accomplished something, unless you have sphagetti arms and can weave all the way up and cut all the wires at the battery terminal without touching anything so not to set the alarm off. proximity and laser sensors are pretty cheap to install now too they can help elimiate issues as such. if there are 2 cars on the road, 1 with alarm and 1 not... the crook will choose the unalarmed car 8.5/10 times and the other 1.5 times they were to dumb to check for it. my99cavy 07-25-2006, 07:45 PM takes me 5 seconds to remove most clubs! and I don't mean with a key!! ;)hahaha just taking a wild guess here............kick the bitch??? Young Chuck D 07-25-2006, 08:30 PM a REAL good friend of mine has the same aura, but he is also a master marksmen and has about 15k in guns and amo in the basement i have a .45 pistol style bb gun... its the heavy kind, not the lightweight plastic kind. and ENDLESS BB's AND CO2 CARTRIDGES:evillol: Young Chuck D 07-25-2006, 08:32 PM meanwhile they use a crowbar to bend the back seat down, or pop the trunk open and hack the shit out of your ride to get everything out. im not a pro crook but im sure there are ways to steal wheels that are locked... hell i take my steering wheel in the house with me but im sure someone out there has a universal quick hub thatll work just fine in my car. you must live in hollywood or something. if you have crap in your car it dont matter if you have it bolted down, ghetto kidlets will get it out, and if they cant they will destroy your car in the process of trying. there is no way you can bolt down every single valuable in your vehicle it not feasable. people are willing to steal anything and everything. alarms are a worthy investment even if your running stock everything, as long as the car is worth more than a bigmac and fries. not only is it a deterrant, but its a friggin nice warning for when some nugget is rummaging through your shit looking for any bottle of tic tacs you left in your car while your watching the facts of life. i live about 1 minute from College Park in MD... so i dunno, maybe the thieves go for the rich kids cars.......... infinitis, acuras, bmw, lexuses..... shit even toyotas and hondas... noshun 07-26-2006, 08:56 AM hahaha just taking a wild guess here............kick the bitch??? some of them snap!! my99cavy 07-26-2006, 02:22 PM some of them snap!!yes i know because those damn things are pourly made. :disappoin Lances133 07-26-2006, 03:51 PM I would never even consider using one of them anyway, those things went out of style years ago like Mc hammer pants. my99cavy 07-26-2006, 03:53 PM I would never even consider using one of them anyway, those things went out of style years ago like Mc hammer pants.haha yeah i know there not worth it. waste of money. (dont know how much but still its a waste) as far as hammer pants, :nutkick: lol Cavalier2000 07-26-2006, 05:06 PM i'm to sexy for my club, to sexy for my club, i'm to sexy my99cavy 07-26-2006, 05:08 PM i'm to sexy for my club, to sexy for my club, i'm to sexyummmm yeah what he said^^^ Lances133 07-26-2006, 06:14 PM i'm to sexy for my club, to sexy for my club, i'm to sexy lol great example as to why i like to come to this forum and not jbo or quad4, it's not as serious and technical my99cavy 07-26-2006, 06:27 PM exactly why i come to this one and those others. Cavalier2000 07-26-2006, 06:54 PM maybe it if just becasue of stupid people like me my99cavy 07-26-2006, 07:02 PM maybe it if just becasue of stupid people like mehaha yeah thats another reason why i hang out here. j/k vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
