loose wheel

I have a 2001 ex 4x4 sportage. When I had the front jacked up the other day I noticed both front wheels have alot of play/looseness. When I push or pull it makes a clicking sound. The tie rods and ball joints seem to be fine. Could this be bad bearings? Or could they just be loose? Is there a way to tighten them? Thanks.

Re: loose wheel

probly most likly is the bearing gone bad the sportage with 4 wheel drive has vacuum assist hubs and kia used flimsy ruber hoses to connect the hubs to the engine department. and the hoses rot away exposing the bearings to the elements. change the bearings plug the hole for the vacum assist hubs and change over to warn manuel locking hubs(i did) or warn auto mechanical hubs.
