Exclamation I need a explanation of head unit wiring

my vehicle is a chevy cav 1997 sedan

ok i have a sony explod Cdx GT20w and a mounting kit. In the sony box theres some kind of wire connecter that attaches to the back of the unit and on the other end is loose colored wires. this is the stereos harness right? and so i connect them to the cars harness thats already in there? So do i have to remove the stock cars head units harness and solder or crimp to where the stockon were connected.

here are images so can i just connect these loose wires with the ones on the existing harness in the car according to color. But what are these cables for as shown in images the one that looks like a crab claw and those 2 wires with plastic tips that say "ant rem max 0.3A and 0.1A"

thanx for help im sorry if im annoying anyone

there should be 2 wiring harnesses, one for your stereo, and one for your car, both of those harneses have loose wires that you need to attach to each other.... alot of the time they're even color coded

the ones with the plastic tips are your remote wires. dont have to mess with those unless hooking up subs or something else of that sort.

Re: I need a explanation of head unit wiring

ok take that connector and go but one from Best-buy or a stereo shop that will work with 97 cav. Then attach the corresponding wires from each to each other and install the deck. Two ways to connect it, solder and heat shrink (or failing the heat-shrink just electrical tape) the wire should say what they are on both connectors. The colours don't usually match up. It's not usually a good idea to remove the stock connector as the wire in GM cars aren't consistent with any other system. The other wire with the plastic should say what they are for or the manual for the deck will. This way you can connect the wires out of the car and then just clip into the car and slot the deck in once the mounting kit is installed. Also the antenna, the typical size on all decks is Motorola but gm decided to use a smaller one, you will need that also. Some Harness kits do come with this though. I believe a Scoshe one ddoes and you can pick those up at wal-mart
