My brother's 98 5 speed Z24 has had some transmission problems in the past week. The problem seems to be in the differential. It's making a whole bunch of bad sounds, steady clicking in a straight line, binding up on any left or right corner, gears clanking and crunching when it's in gear. Anyway, this came at a bad time for him, he hasn't worked for a week and doesn't have the cash to have the tranny rebuilt or to buy a used one. He has a 95 base model Cavalier parts car with a 2.2 and 5 speed in his yard that has a good tranny, but I was told he'd need an adapter plate in order to use the 95's tranny in his 98 Z24. I've searched Google and JBO and haven't found any links or info on these adapter plates, so I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

never heard of such a thing. not even sure if the the axles will fit right
