threw a rod
thought I had the oil problem fixed , turned out that it must have been the oil pump. I threw a rod out the side of the motor and am now looking to rebuild the motor or get a new 2.2. My question to you all is how much am I looking at spending to do this and do you have anywhere that would be cheaper to buy the parts I need or the motor for that matter.

Re: threw a rod
There's no rebuilding a motor that just had a catastrophic failure to that degree. That's a shame you had such an oil starvation issue. I've not heard of any issues in regards to that with the 1998-2003 isuzu/daewoo 2.2L. The daewoo laganza shares the same 2.2L, but in front wheel drive format. You'll have to search for an isuzu rodeo 1998-2003 2.2L. I have a feeling it will cost more than the truck is worth.
G/luck

Re: threw a rod
Just from a quick search..
.................................................. ....short.....short........long........long
.................................................. ....block.....block........block.......block
.................................................. ....price......core.........price.......core
Isuzu Amigo, Rodeo X22SE 2.2 1998-2002 4 675.00 250.00 1850.00 500.00
that is from http://www.tbolt.net/Isuzu_CID.htm
http://remanufactured.com/Isuzu_Engines.htm seems to be around the same price.
I have no experience with either company.

Re: threw a rod
Just out of curiousity, don't know much about the 2.2L's, but if it's an auto and say perhaps mated to the 4L30-E auto tranny (again, I don't know anything about the 2.2L set-ups), but is it possible to put in a 3.2L engine?
If so, I wouldn't bother with the 2.2L 4-cylinder, find yourself the V6, you'll be MUCH happier with more power.
