What do you guy's think? I pulled the following blurb from Edmunds.com. They seem to think that this is it for Isuzu. I hope it's not true...but the writing has been on the wall for sometime now.

Does anybody know what will happen to my 10/120K powertrain warranty if Isuzu packs it up?

Last Call? Isuzu's 2007 Line May Be Final Year in U.S.
Date posted: 06-20-2006

CERRITOS, Calif. — In what may be the swan song for Isuzu light-duty vehicles in the United States, the Japanese affiliate of General Motors said it will join GM in offering larger four- and five-cylinder engines in its midsize pickups for model-year 2007.

The Isuzu models will be marketed as the i-290 and the i-370 to reflect the larger engines. The i-290, which replaces the i-280, gets a new 185-horsepower DOHC 2.9-liter four-cylinder, while the i-370, which replaces the i-350, receives a new 242-hp 3.7-liter five-cylinder.

Isuzu said prices will remain unchanged from 2006, with the i-290 starting at around $17,000 and the i-370 at less than $28,000.

The i-Series pickups are essentially rebadged clones of the Chevrolet Colorado. Production of the '07 Isuzu trucks begins this month at GM's plant in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The Isuzu Ascender SUV, which is a companion to the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, gets only modest changes for 2007, including the addition of a tire-pressure monitoring system. The seven-passenger extended-length model is being discontinued. Prices start at around $26,000, with 2007 production starting this month at GM's Moraine, Ohio, plant.

Isuzu dealers sold just 638 vehicles in the U.S. in May, down 48 percent from the previous year.

What this means to you: If you're desperate to own a new Isuzu, the clock is ticking.

for me personally, I wouldn't buy a new Isuzu. I'd rather have a new car with dealerships around. I just moved to a new state and when I got here, my 99 Rodeo needed service. The nearest Isuzu dealer was at least 30-40 minutes away. And I guess I'm lucky there is one that close, but in reality, that's far. Everyother car make has a dealer within 5 miles of where I live. There is evn an exotic car dealer and a hummer only dealership. Porshe too.

The Isuzu dealer here will probably be gone soon anyway. I couldn't imagine buying a vehicle and not knowing the future of the company. When i got the Rodeo, I didn't realize how troubled Isuzu was. It really doesn't matter as i had a good mechanic, but now that I'm in unfamiliar territory I need to find a good mechanic. A dealer would be nice.

The *good* thing (:uhoh: ) about he "I" series pickups and the assender is they are 100% Chevy. Parts & service will be around for them forever. 7/75 warranty and isuzu dealerships is the big unknown. People will speculate, but no one knows.

Even if isuzu folds you can still take it to a Honda dealer and they should be able to fix anything.

Ya think? I'd like to see the look on a honda service guy's face when a colorado or trailblazer clone comes rolling in.:uhoh:

I'm really concerned about who will cover my warranty if Isuzu calls it quits. The 10year/120K mile warranty was one main selling points when I purchased the SUV.

Can they just walk away from their responsibility?

I know this is just speculation at this point, but it's something that we all need to start thinking about if you still have the original warranty.

I'm sure not all Honda dealers are like this, but the one I take my Passport to is intentionally incompetent when it comes to the truck. I took it in due to the knocking sound in the rear end when shifting and they told me it needed a new rear differential, but didn't bother to quote a price on it since I "brought it in with no gas in it," so I must not be planning on keeping it. (I had been telling them when I brought it in for oil changes for the two years prior that the gas gauge was broken and not to worry about.)

That's two things they should've known were issues with the Passport: the slip yolk and the fuel gauge sender - but they didn't and still don't. I, too, need to drive 30 miles to the nearest Isuzu dealership to have my Passport worked on, but it's worth it for anything other than a simple oil change.

Yeah, that's been my experience as well. They are worse than most. I think honda makes an outstanding product, but their proud pricing keeps me away from their vehicles.

I just called in today concerning a warranty question on my Isuzu and I was told that Isuzu is still an indepedent company that has yet to decide if they are going to continue marketing certain vehicles in the USA. The rep. did say that they would appreciate any positive feedback from Isuzu owners and to send your comments to the corporate headquarters; you can find the address in your owners manual. The rep said headquarters is very interested in your feedback and maybe a determing factor in their decision to market vehicles in the USA.

Since they are only selling Gm vehicles now, i would consider them dead in the US whether the dealers are here or not. I do like the fact that you can buy the same GM at an Isuzu dealer and get a better warranty than if you buy it at a GM dealer.
