Blinkers inop

Greetings... I have a 2001 X, manual, 6cyl. .. When I use the blinker...reguardless if i turn it left or right... the blinker will flash a few times and then shut off... If I re-engage the blinker.. the same thing will happen. Any ideas?

Thanks...

Re: Blinkers inop

The plot thickens... The flashers work... the blinkers work... but sometimes they stop on their own..also, the "speed" of the relay varies. Sometimes it will click fast and then slow down and then speed up... It baffles me...

Thanks again...

Re: Blinkers inop

Sounds like a flaky flasher unit.

Not entirely certain, somewhere behind/below the dash.

Re: Blinkers inop

Okay I got it fixed. The dealer wanted $56.00 for the part. I went to Napa and got it for $15. I used part number EP-34. The only difference was the Napa part didn't have the fancy molding on it... But, no worries.. You can take the relay portion out of the Napa part and use the Nissan molding to put it back in correctly.
I've attached a few images that show where the flasher is located and how to remove it from the truck.

Thanks a lot for the assistance....

Sorry for the small images.... it's all they would allow..... if you want to see the originals, send me a PM

Re: Blinkers inop

Glad you got it fixed. If you don't mind, could you put a post in here for other people searching?

Re: Blinkers inop

Do you have to remove any panels, to get access to the flasher unit? I tried crawling under my steering wheel, but I can only get one hand on it....Hard to see with out breaking anything.

Re: Blinkers inop

For the Life of me I can't seem to find it... I bought the NAPA replacement unit, and have pulled most of the dash.... am I missing something?
