Hey,

2003 Tahoe with the auto HVAC controls...

I've noticed the rear air isn't that cool anymore and now I see that I have a pretty nice leak in the back passenger side. I pulled off the trim to expose the rear AC equipment and there is condensate forming on the outside of this black plastic box. It's on the right side toward the brakelight if that makes any sense.

I took a picture but couldn't post it. I understand the moderator has to set something up?

Anyways, given this vague description could anyone help diagnose this for me? Maybe the condensate drain is clogged?

Making things worse, about a month ago I had noticed the back carpet under the middle seat was wet and blamed it on the wife...wonder if I should tell her that I might have been wrong?

Nevermind, I finally found the condensate drain outlet. Once I pinched that thing it let out like a racehorse...if it wasn't a gallon I'd be surprised.

Funny thing is I've NEVER seen it draining back there, only at the front. I guess it's been clogged up for a long time now.

Could you tell me where the condensate drain is on 2003 tahoe? I have been looking, but also ONLY see water up front no matter how hard it is working. I think I may need to check mine. Is it hard to get to? Now that you've opened yours up, is there water dripping in the rear after you turn it off?
Thanks much in advance,

It's behind the rear passenger wheel in line with the tire. Look up under there behind the tire and you'll see two or three pipes coming through the floor from the AC unit in the cargo area.

Right next to those pipes coming through the floor is a black rubber flapper looking thing, about an inch long and shaped like a wedge. It doesn't look like what you'd expect, but that's it. Just give that thing a pinch and it should break loose any dirt that's built up.

After that, I've noticed condensate dripping near the exhaust pipe on a regular basis. I think it had been clogged for over a year now.

You might check the carpet in your cargo area and see if it's been leaking out.
