Its basically 1/4 mile times broken down into categorys for MOST* street cars. So we all know that no matter what our car is, its probably faster than a Ford Aerostar.


anything 16.5- ^ is Slow
anything 15.5-16.4 is Decent
anything 14.5-15.4 is Quick
anything 13.5-14.4 is Fast
anything 13.0-13.4 is Hella Fast x 3
anything 12.5-12.9 is Freaking Fast
anything 12.0-12.4 is Sweeeet
and
anything 12 or Lower is just plain Greased lightning.

Anything thats remotely performanced oriented will most likey be within this list, things like a Stock Civic DX to like a Corolla S or even a Camaro SS or Cobra R.. whatever the vehicle, they lie withing this list.

Motorcycles, and Cars designed strickly for the strip do NOT apply.

* = Must be remotely streetable to be eligable. Vehicle is subject to redicule if runs extremely low times for something not heard of normaly. I.E. a Civic running 10s and being a Daily driver. < uh Duh thats probably not a Street car.

I think I might fit into the "quick" category... I know all Z's ran at least 15s stock... mine is a turbo... maybe its somewhere in the "quick" category... I haven't ran it at the track yet tho

Firebird is probably in the quick. Most GTA's and Iroc Z28's were in the mid to high 14's right? Never tested the car out.

what about trap speed, i think that should also be a deciding factor. but as that stands, my last car was fast, my new one is quick, my truck is slow. the reason i say about the trap speeds, is my last car got a 14.3, but it trapped 107mph, as compared to a ls1 that runs a 12.9 but only make 100mph

man, how did you get a gto sr in atlanta?? are you able to register it? i know it costs like $10k to get most imported cars legal in the us. why not get a 3000gt, from your specs, it looks about the same?

CyberCRX: It is a 3000GT! But, jus' to get on the JDM-mania bandwagon, I call it a GTO! But a true GTO would be a VR4, and I have the NA base, so it's a GTO SR!

Note: I'm getting the J-spec MMC and GTO symbols put on, so it won't be so untrue for me to call it a GTO SR for very much longer!

I went to the track for the first time today. The only problem i don't know my quarter E.T. The closest track is an eigth and I ran 10.29@68 But i averaged 10.4's and5's all day. All i have is intake and exhaust on my a 93integ ls which is approaching 150k miles. I was just wandering if this is any good. Plus it was on the cheapest tires pepboy has.

I'm decent, pulled a 15.9 once.

I started well in the slow range, now I am in the decent range, in about a week or so I will be in the quick range, in about 2 or 3 months I will be in the fast range, within the year I will be in the hella fast x3 range

Beats the crap out of the $6000 I paid for my '96 GS-R with 120k miles that would only probably run mid-low 15's.

My friend's got a '93 integra and it roars. It's a quick little booger. He "races" it but refuses to take it out to the 1/4 mile track but from what I've seen it's fast.

I would currently be just Fast. As of this coming friday, I will be deep into Hella Fast x3.

My car used to be in the fast category, now it is however fast the truck towing it can make it down the 1/4 mile, so probably slow. :cry:

right now it's decent,next year should be in the quick category

I run 11.80s-12.0s depending on if I speed shift or take it easy on the transmission. I have a 1990 Mustang LX 5.0 track weight is a little about 3400 pounds with me in it. Now I do run 9 inch slicks but it will run the same times on mt et streets(use to have) and bfg drag radials(use to have) and this is naturally aspirated times. Use to have a 150 shot of gas on it and it ran 10.89@127. The 1/8 mile times was w/out nitrous-7.50s-7.60s on nitrous-6.70s-6.80s.I drive this car almost everyday.

I know you said that some times might get laughed at because they sound outrageous, and I would have said the same thing if I did not witness the times my friend runs in his Trans Am with my own eyes. From what I know he is running a 383 Stroker motor and 3 stages of nitrous. This is a 2001 Trans Am and still has ac, power windows, power locks, and it not gutted or tubbed in anyway. On MT ET Streets on the run I witnessed and saw the time light up on the lights at the end of the track and seeing the timeslip after the run, he ran the quarter in 9.43@146 and the 1/8 in 5.50. I would not have beleived this if I didn't see it myself. It is really fast and usually not daily driven but can be. On motor alone the car runs mid 11s not to fast but the motor is a nitrous motor and designed to run best on nitrous. So I don't know if I would consider this car or not. It does run on street legal tires and can be daily driven.

Wow, i'm proud to say it looks like i'm the only one in the greased lightning crowd right now among the imports. There is a slight mod list, the car is still street legal and is daily driven and not a trailor queen when we go to the track.

I'm Fast, 13.9@101 dead stock, 4 speed automatic with 2.73 gears. Dynoed 280rwhp 305rwtq. No times with the current mods, low 13's maybe a 12.9 :)

Are you for real? A 93 teg with just Intake and Exhaust is not going to be fast. LS or a GSR.

Well i can finally give a time. The car ran a 11.5 at over 120. It probably ran a low 11 maybe high 10, but there are still a few bugs to work out and this was it's debut also this weekend.

Yea, I thought so...I was there too. You might have seen my club...23 Fbody's strong:D I myself didn't race because of some glitches I'm trying to work out, but a bunch of my buddies did. Did you hang out around the mobile dyno at all? That's where I was most of the day, pulled 449 rwhp NA and with those glitches I mentioned above...Anyways, good times!:)

No, i didn't even know there was a dyno there, i would have loved to put my car on it. I know there were alot of fbods there though. Nice hp, you ever go to any of the midnight madness events.

Yeap, they had a mobile dyno there, I wanted to spend more time on it because it was super cheap and we were trying to get some things worked out with LTEdit. Yea, the hp was pretty good, but I was looking for more like 500rwhp. Should definately be obtainable with a bit more tuning:) I go to midnight madness sometimes. Not too often though, just because it's SOOO popular that it gets too crowded. I mostly just stay around here, go to Capitol Raceway all the time. A lot more SERIOUS and long-time racers and car-addicts go there. And it's nowhere near as crowded. But the track prep is better down in Bud's Creek. I dunno, I go down to MIR for the big events and when a bunch of my buddies go, but I usually don't go there to race because it's such a big hassle to get any runs in. What about you, ever drop by Capitol?

yea, it's a major hassle at MIR, it's fun, nice track, but only like 3 runs for a 2 hour drive isn't worth it to me. I've never been to capitol, i hear alot about it though. Lot's of side bets and stuff. Is it heads up or bracket racing. I need to go down there, what days do they do their "midnight madness"

Well, I am happy now because I have another project car. I plan to run in the Sweeet range, and ocassionally in the Greased Lightning category with the help of a boost regulator.

well, hopefully around mid of next year ill have my project done and be at least in the quick, hopefully fast. I have no clue. ewhat do you think this car could do with a good driver.

a 5th gen accord sedan with a h22a, 5 speed, lightened flywheel, new clutch, JRSC, headers, custom dual 2.5 inch exhaust with no cat(no emissions here),intake,high flow fuel pump, vpac, and other toys.

don't even say that, just pull up to him looking all stock and smoke his ass. That's what i did with all the people who talked trash before i started running greased lightning:) I told everybody my car got in an accident and was at the shop. Came back with a built b18c1 and a turbo. Now pushes 326hp daily and runs an 11.4. Still looks stock body wise.

I'm Probably in the slow range. Maybe alittle faster if i'm lucky. :D

I ran the quarter in about five minutes, but my knee hurt, and I had to stop once to light a cigarette, and...... Oh, you mean in the car.
I ran one time in the eighth. 9.3 which is not to great, but my trap speed was 81mph, which is pretty good, so that generally means the car is able but the driver sucks. Going back in the spring for another shot at it.

15.1 in the 1/4 and hopefully pulling low 14's with the new mods. Still have to get her back out on the track...

i'd be in the quick range... i'll back it up when i go back to the track though...

your high trap speed and "slow" et may be due to your car...

depending on fwd or rwd, you may not be able to get down the track quick, but build speed at the end...

for example... i was looking at venom's website, and their civic was running faster trap speeds than their supra, but the supra was running 1 sec slower et's.

i hope that kinda makes sense... it's all about getting the power down.. .if you have a lowend power car, you'll have low ets, high speed... fwd cars have "slow" ets with not too bad trap speeds...
