Plan on changing my transmission fluid on a 1991 4 cyl Camry. It calls for
DEXRON II, but is it ok to use the newer DEXRON III with no ill effects?

Yes. III has superceded II and is fully backward compatible. I doubt you can even find II on the shelves anymore.

I have used Dexron III many times and never had problems with it.

Thanks. I figured as much but I wanted a second opinion some of these transmision can be real particular today besides I had no idea where to find Dexron II.
