Post how much for 85

Would a 85 vette project car that runs strong with 124,000mi but needs new paint, body work, front bumper and serious interior work be worth $3,800? So basiclly the engine is great but everything else isnt. I might be able to get the guy down to 3,500.

Re: how much for 85

Well, without knowing the car it's hard to say. But here's the way I would go about it. Go to nadaguides.com and kbb.com and find the value of the vette in good condition. Then go to body shops and look on websites like ecklers and mid america to price how much it will cost you to get the vette back into good condition. If the $3500 + the cost to fix the car is less than the value you found, you're in good shape, if not, look for another one.

(BTW, whatever the body shop tells you, [unless they regularly work on vettes] add a little more to the estimate.)

Re: how much for 85

I have an 85 and we paid $5,600 for the car in great condition. (considering it's 20 years old) We've put about $2,000 into it. We got a glass targa, new speakers, Flowmaster exhaust, new door panels, new steering wheel, and replaced the window ribbon.
