My 95.5 Rodeo is totalled

Well, the long ride has finally come to an end. My daughter recently totalled the front end of my 1995.5 4WD Rodeo S. After 255000 miles it will not see another highway mile unless it is towed. The body shop said it would cost more that it is worth to fix it. Because it was so old, I didn't have full coverage insurance on it. So, what I will most likely do is part it out. The damage was mainly to the body. My daughter rear ended a truck with the tail gate down. The brush guard took most of the impact but was pushed back into the grill which was shattered. The radiator was punctured and the cooling fan shroud was broken. Basically, the whole front end of the body and the left and right fenders and front bumper needs to be replaced. That is the extent of the damage. The chassis, front axle, and drive train were not damaged. I will start pulling parts off for sale as a request comes in. Anyone interested please email me. I may also be listing some of the parts on ebay under the username onlinediscountauctions. It's been great participating on this forum. Who knows, I may just try to fix it if I don't get any valid offers for the parts.

Re: My 95.5 Rodeo is totalled

Sustained the same kind of damage on my front end 4yrs ago, minus the radiator and fan (no mechanical damage of any kind) - I too had a brushguard, in which, I have to wonder if it actually caused more damage then not.

I had to replace the hood, grill, both front fenders, bumper.

Personally, if the rest of the truck's in excellent shape mechanically, put a new radiator in, look for a shroud from a junk yard, and get her back on the road - the rest is just body damage that you can slowly replace over time from junk yard parts.

If I accrued the same type of damage again, I'd just slowly do it over time - specially if the frame, transmission, etc is still in great shape.

Is your's an auto or stick? Curious, was your radiator the original? If so, it probably needed replaced anyway.
