The SR20DET out of the S13, S14, S15 will drop right in. About the only things to worry about is the looms, fuel delivery, and pluming are all different but that is to be expected with a turbo engine compared to a n/a.

The SR20DET out of the GTiR is a different story. Since it is mounted orginally transverse the intake, exhaust mainfolds are completely different. The water pump housing inlet is at such a weird angle it would require a lot of custom pluming and merely changing it is not an option. Also the engine mounts are different. This swap would require a lot of custom work and honestly not worth it.

The S13, S14 and S15 motors will NOT fit in the 200sx SE-R. You need a Blue Bird DET, Avenir DET, or a GTI-R DET. I am in Louisiana.. and can get you any of these engines.. and everything else you need to do this swap. Check me out at www.forcedinductionracing.com. Thanks
Travis

I just realized that over there... you guy's 200sx is RWD car. Over here in the states.. the 200sx is a FWD car.. and totaly different than you guy's model.

you really should check your info before you post. the S13/14/15 SR20DET will NOT work in a 200SX. a GTiR or BB engine WILL work, as the engine, as you noted, is transversly mounted.

there are a few places i know of that offer such setups. one in specific, will send you an entire GTiR front clip for $2400! the BB front clips is just a bit lower at $2200. the GTiR comes stock with 227hp, and the BB with 203hp.

i'm going to go with a GTiR motor for my '96 200SX SE-R. the GTiR has larger injectors (444cc/min Top Feed instead of 370cc/min SIDE FEED) which will make it easier to pump high-boost and not have to worry about fuel-issues. it also has a lower compression ration (8.3:1 as to 8.5:1) and has a larger turbo (T28 as compared to T25) with a ball-bearing center instead of a journal bearing. ohh yeah, the intake also has individual throttle bodies instead of a single TB like the BB and SR20DE. (read: just damn cool! also, increased throttle response.)

if i remember right, the injectors on both cars are a Peak-and-Hold type instead of a Saturated type. Peak-and-Hold fires only when that specific cylinder is on intake stroke. Saturated fire once per rotation of the crankshaft. when Nissan built the GTiR motor, they reeeeaaaaly built it! the thing literally IS a detuned race-engine. time to buy one and tune it up!

I'm working on a swap right now I've done the sr20det into a 240sx and I liked the way it turned out so I just sold my 2003 WRX(with mods) and got a 96 200sx se. I know I have to get the ser trany, ecu and harness but this swap can't be that hard. My problem is getting the ser trany ect. I can't find one any where I've hit all the junk yard here in Orlando FL and no luck. If any one has any info that could help me get this stuff let me know and I'll be glad to help with any tech info on doing the swap these nissan swap are easy compared to the other stuff I've done and they have great power for the price.....nooch
