Left rear lower than the rest.

Hi all. I just got my Blazer a month ago. 2003 ZR2 peweuter or however it is spelled. I am only the second owner. It was off lease with 41000 miles. I am very pleased with it. My trouble is the other day my inlaws were commenting that the back end was lower than the front. I thought it was a optical illusion. Well it stayed on my mind so I decided to measure. Results were the left rear is almost 1 and 1/2 inch lower from the body to the center of the wheel, body to the ground on level surface and body to top of tire. looking under I see nothing remarkable. distance from the springs to the stop bumper are the same by eye. I did not measure. Ride is fine tires are great with no abnormal wear no pulling to left or right shocks are fine. Tires are the original and have many many miles left on them. My friend works at a Chevrolet dealer in the service and he says to lower right front using the torsion bar adjustments. I ? that because then the front right will be lower. Any ideas? On another subject where is the best place to look for add on accessories. I want to lift the body some and add a winch, brush guards and other things. Thank you. I an 1/4 way through the postings and I am impressed with the wealth of knowledge. I know my way around machinery and do almost all my own work. I was a helicopter Mechanic in the Army.

Re: Left rear lower than the rest.

Check all the bushings first. The only other reasonable thing that I can see is that 1 spring has sagged.
Don't lower the front, unless someone raised it.

You did check to see if it was in an accident before you bought it didn't you?

Re: Left rear lower than the rest.

Bushings are fine. I did a car fax and it came up clean. This was an off lease and I think it was taken care of well. I was under it from the front to back and everything looked great. There was no evidence of damage or any repairs. I am positive that it was not in a accident. The springs look good. For 1 and 1/2 inches I would think that I would see something.

Re: Left rear lower than the rest.

I also have the same problem with my 98. but it is a 2 wheel drive, but the rear ends are the same. it is also my left rear that is lower than the right side. i've never done any measurments but it is atleast an inch lower. i was told i could replace the sprring but i really don't want to do that. But i think i'm just gonna take out the over-load spring on the right side to make it all level. I've heard that s-10's and blazers are really bad about sagging leaf springs. So good luck!

Re: Left rear lower than the rest.

I think they all do that because of the driver weight. I like the fix your friend gave you. My fix has been to increase the weaker torsion bar (the drivers side and install lift kit (spring)on rear.
