67 mustang C-4 Trani problems

Justy dropped a new engine into the car and must not have payed enough attention to the vacuam line for the transmission. Everything else is working great but I am missing the Vacuam line that goes to the trani. Not sure if it got trashed or what but does anyone have pictures or can tell me from where to where the Vacaum line goes??? Any help would be great thanks..

As I recall, it's just manifold vacuum. (NOT 'ported' vacuum)

Just find the correct port (nipple) on the intake manifold, below the throttle blades and hook up to there.

Manifold vacuum is the kind that sucks strongest when the throttle is closed and the engine is running.

I know where it hooks up on the engine just not sure where the vacuum is on the trani, and don't really want to take the trani out unless i really have to. Any idea?? Thanks

Re: 67 mustang C-4 Trani problems

There's a small "can" sticking out of the back of the trans, just above the pan, with a nipple sticking out. That's where the vacuum line goes. It's called the "vacuum modulator". You won't have to pull it out to do this.

The facotry line is a steel tube with bends in it, and rubber tubes at each end. Be sure there's a spot in the line, where it's above the throttle plates before going down to the trans, to avoid siphoning fuel into the line. That can destroy the diaphragm inside the modulator.
