Re: Do fuel injector cleaning chemicals really work

I use 2oz of Mystery Oil (in a red plastic bottle) every other gas fill up. I can't tell you if it works, as I only have one car so I don't know what the same milage car, etc is doing health wise. I have 243,000 + miles on my '92. I am burning (no drips) about a 1/4 quart of oil between oil changes (3k-4k miles) and get about 41mpg. I use a fuel injector cleaner once a year. Not sure if that helps either, still get the same mpg after the cleaner.

I had the common idle surging problem after my car sat for about a month and I ran some Lucas fuel system cleaner and it's never happened since. I'd highly recomend it.

Re: Do fuel injector cleaning chemicals really work

i just put in a bottle of Motomaster Formula fuel system treatment into my car....i dunno if its just me.....but this is exactly what happened, no BS. My car used to be able to pull up to 180 kmh on the freeway, but then it started gettin sluggier and sluggier until it had trouble pulling up to 160 kmh...then after i added the treatment to my fuel, and ran the car for a good couple days. i decided to give the engine a lil test.......lo and behold, i hit 190 kmh. yup, this is good stuff i tell ya what. and i tested it on a severely hot day too, 32 degrees C(dunno what degree F). So, choose a good one, and may your engine be restored to a beast.

If you really want to clean your engine I've heard some good things about Auto-RX (http://auto-rx.com/index.html). Also I've heard sea foam is good too.
