73 mach 1

i found an old mach1 for sale w/ origional 351 c... they are asking 1500. its mostly all there but it is obviously a long term project... heres a pic:


worth it? im talking to the owner... im in western WI and this sits in ohio. and ive asked for more pics. if i like the car enough i might buy it... but it will be in storage for a while till my cougar is in good enough condition ( basically minor body work, motor, trans, and diff rebuild

It depends on what it needs.

Generally, such cars like this that likely need almost everything to be done are not worth fixing - that is a good one can be bought for less money than what it would take to fix this one.

However, if you want to do the work yourself and you would enjoy doing so, then such financial decisions are not so realistic. Can you place a value on the enjoyment and skill development you would receive by fixing this car?

At the very least, make sure it is complete and has ALL the trim parts, clips etc and has not been stripped for parts. Keep an eye out for rust and crash damage; otherwise, take a pass and use the $$$ to fix your cougar first.
