Re: 99 tranny prob

Sounds like you need to get it scanned with a trans capable scanner. Even though the SES light is not staying on the PCM will store tranny fault codes for retrieval. Rough and delayed shifting could be the pressure control solenoid (PCS). A DTC error code of P1811 max. adapt/long shift may be stored.

When did you have a tranny service last performed like replacing the ATF and screen filter?

Re: 99 tranny prob

PCS is what I'm thinking they are coming out of the wood work with this warm weather.

Yeah, especially down here. We hit 102 degrees last week. I helped two guys in our local GP club diagnose suspected PCS problems. $525 with part at the new Cottmans. Same old story.

Re: 99 tranny prob

lately mine has been acting up a little when it gets hot out...mostly just when i've been driving for a while...if i floor it at about 25, it normally just downshifts to 1st, and accelerates, but lately in the heat, it will downshift, then the revs will shoot up, and oscillate, like bouncing off the rev limiter, then shift to second...any ideas?
