Good Question. It's easier than flushing your transmission.
First thing that you want to do is take the distributer cap off, leaving all the wires in place.
Next change the router, and put the new cap on.
Next remove the wires from the spark plugs, 1 at a time. Replace that plug. Find out what new plug wire is the same length as that wire, and put it on the new plug, and to the samp place on the new cap.
I had to do the same job on a Ford Bronco II today and it took me less than an hour.

The PVC valve should also be replaced or at least checker. It's on a valve cover, and L shaped (I believe)
And after your done these jobs take it for a test drive, and let us know how it drives. You'll probably be impressed
