Hesitation off the line?

I have a 2002 crew cab 4x4 w/ 4.3 L and I have noticed that it hesitates if you floor it from a stop before it starts makin power, is this normal for these engines?

Thanks

Re: Hesitation off the line?

Thanks, I am goin to change the fuel filter this weekend, what other things should I do? Spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor?? Is it to hard to change these or should I just take it to my local shop and pay the extra money?

Re: Hesitation off the line?

Good Question. It's easier than flushing your transmission.

First thing that you want to do is take the distributer cap off, leaving all the wires in place.
Next change the router, and put the new cap on.
Next remove the wires from the spark plugs, 1 at a time. Replace that plug. Find out what new plug wire is the same length as that wire, and put it on the new plug, and to the samp place on the new cap.
I had to do the same job on a Ford Bronco II today and it took me less than an hour.
You'll want to read this thread before you start this job since 1 plug's hard to change

The PVC valve should also be replaced or at least checker. It's on a valve cover, and L shaped (I believe)

And after your done these jobs take it for a test drive, and let us know how it drives. You'll probably be impressed

Wow If only most of our problems were that easy.
