hi, i'm a rookie in bmws.

i'm kinda confused by the different numbers such as E21, E36 or E46, etc. I'm keen to learn more about what each number means (e.g. models, year of production, specifications...) and i've been searching in vain on the net cos there is no website offering any detail explanations.
Appreciate if anyone could enlighten me.
