solid axle question

is it possible to put an 81 toyota solid front axle in a 99 tacoma. the problem being the diff on the solid axle is on the passenger side and on the 99 the drive shaft comes out on the drivers side. is it as easy as takin the axle tubes and switching them from side to side? the axle is free so spending a bit of money on it doesn't matter.

thanx
