Over heating

My 97 GTP is running hot and sometimes smoking. I took it to the shop and they said there was a hole in my collent hose. The problem was sorta fixed, but not all the way. It still runs hot and smokes at some points. I'm thinking that the radiator may need to be flushed. What do u guys think.

Re: Over heating

It won't hurt to flush the radiator also make sure the fans are coming on at the proper time. You could possibly have a bad thermostat or air in the system that is causing the overheating. Check the coolant level as well.

Re: Over heating

My 97 GT had a problem with overheating. The cause was old coolant, which had not been properly flushed by mechanics, had become lodged in places reducing flow dramatically. Does the heat work in your car? If not then you may have the same problem I had.
