Red face 95 6.5 diesel brake light problem

I've searched the forum and can find no answers I hope you all might help.
I just bought this truck, the brake lights didn't work when I got it home but a fuse got them going. I hooked my trailer to the truck and the lights still worked fine for a period of time, now I noticed they are out again along with the turn signals and flashers. I went back to the fuse I changed out and it isn't blown, but there is no power on either side of the fuse. I've got power under the hood at the relay and all of those fuses are fine. I've got the dash almost completly torn apart and have found I need the wiring harness end for the headlights also, the hot wire has burnt through the connector. Any ideas where to get a new one? Any advice from knowlegable persons is greatly appreciated.

Re: 95 6.5 diesel brake light problem

Well I think the problem was located, after blowing about a dozen fuses or so, we found a hot wire going up into the top of the cab back towards the third brake light, that was just there no tape on the end just a cut off orange wire that seem to serve no purpose. I put a butt splice on it and the fuse stays in now, Now I must reassemble the interior of the truck for a test ride. I hope this might help someone in the future.
