need opinions on exhaust for '00

im a 16 year old and i have a '00 impala 3.8 litre i bought from my uncle. i am very happy with this car, it has great low end torque and power, and it is still running strong at 180,000 miles. i live in kentucky, and i wanted to find a cheap and easy way to make my impala's exhaust sound deep and throaty. if anyone has any suggestions or ideas that would be great. thanks.

You should also post this question at:

www.naioa.com

naioa= North America Impala Owners Association

There are a bunch of young Impala enthusiasts there...

Wow, and I thought I was the only person who spammed Naioa over here, nice work Gmes.

Umm, it depends on how deep and throaty you want, there are mild to wild.

And it depends on how much you want to spend. If you are just planning on changing the sound of the car, and not going any further with pursuing performance, I would suggest that you just change the muffler out, find the sound of muffler that you like and buy it and take it to a shop and they can take the old one out and weld in the new one.

If you are looking for a little more show, you can either have a shop build you a custom dual catback and put in the mufflers you like, or there are numerous catback systems out there for your car, and it all just will depend on the sound you want, and how much money you have to spend.

If you don't know what kind of sound you want, you can head over to www.naioa.com/v2 and go to the message boards, and in the engine/exhaust section, on top there is a sticky for "exhaust sound database" where members have taken sound clips of their exhaust for others to hear, so you can make a educated descicion about what sound you like best.

flowmaster 40 series. I've heard they sound the best. Ask the muff shop.
