1999 Passat Instrumentation Cluster

I need to remove my instrumentation cluster so I can have it repaired and am stumped as to how to do this. I do not see any screws within the dash and was hoping for some advice and/or a weblink for instructions.

Also, is it true that the mileage of a used cluster with will revert to the original miles of the vehicle in which it is installed?

Thanks.

Re: 1999 Passat Instrumentation Cluster

remove the steering column trim and the trim right above it and below the cluster.

(its cliped in to the cluster, pull out "twards you" to get the small trim piece off.)
then remove the 2 t20 torx screws that hold the cluster to the dash.
