Note on Chevy's Tire Matinence

Note on Chevy's Tire Matinence

Chevy puts their tire pressure to low on these cars. they put them usually around 20 psi each time i go in. the lable says 30psi and i stil get unusual wear on the tires at the with a good alignment. i found the best PSI is 35 for these cars on the new LeMans SR tires that replaced the Kumo Tires

For general use tires should be inflated to what the Owner's Manual or tire information label usually near drivers door says. Say something to your dealer if they are underinflating your tires which can be dangerous.

i run toyo and my tire pressure is usually around 40 psi
runs great and smoth
and toyuo love s to spin and make noise plus lots of smoke you may need to use your ebrake to aid you if you havent done any upgrades
insert clutch, pull ebrake , take it up to 6000rpms, release clutch and watch smoke turn into money

Re: Note on Chevy's Tire Matinence

I have a 2004 LS m/t Aveo (Indonesia), to have a comfortable ride, I usually fill 35psi using Bridgestone RE711. If you use this kind of tyre, don't force it to 40psi because if you're going above 65mph and you do panic breaking (since it doesn't have ABS), you'll lock your tyres and spin for sure.
To keep it nice and clean, use KIT black magic daily.

i don't even look at what that sticker inside the door says. that guide at best is a general number. did gm make those tires? no. so how can they tell you what they are designed to run at. have you changed the brand/type of tires? look on the sidewall and see what the manufacturer recommends. then once you decide what you want to run them at, check them weekly. i most usually check all my tires on sunday. good to check the fluids too.

Wink Re: Note on Chevy's Tire Matinence

Well, there aren't any recomendations at all from the GM actually, but I got my Aveo with standard Korean tyres (Hankook), it was really noisy, so before it even got bald, I've replaced them with Bridgestone RE711 (14 inches, same size with the standard), with much better performance and low noise, and I just look at the recomendation from the tyre manufacturer, not from the GM.

Now, Bridgestone have launched a Bridgestone G-III that has an even better performance, so I recommend those tyres to you all.
