AC is leaking onto the floor board.

My AC is leaking onto the floor of my 97 Sportage. I checked under the hood for an opening to the heater core but could not find it. I checked under the dash and saw where it went into the firewall, but could not find another hose for draining. What should I do.

Re: AC is leaking onto the floor board.

The drain is plugged. Turn the wheels all the way to the left and if you look in the fender well with a flashlight you should be able to see the bottom of the drain on the firewall.

The drain is a 90degree rubber tube that gets smaller at the bottom and becomes plugged with debris.

You should be able to get your hand up there to pull the drain tube off.

Putting it back on is up to you. I have never seen a problem with one that does not have the drain tube in place.
