2000 radiator cap?

My friend who lives about 400 miles away from me is stating that her car (2000 Chevy Cavalier) doesn't have a radiator cap. I've only owned cars from 94 and before, but I can't believe that there isn't a cap. How do you check the fluid lvls and do you just use the overflow to add or is she insane? I told her that it's gotta be on the top of the radiator but she says that it's not there. Is there a cover or something she needs to remove, or does it really not have a cap?

Thanks in advance.

Re: 2000 radiator cap?

The pressure cap is located on the fluid reservoir not on the radiator itself. This is a common practice on newer vehicles so a radiator cap is generally a thing of the past. Now they are called pressure caps and are located on the reservoir.

Re: 2000 radiator cap?

So then how would you check the fluid lvl in the radiator? Seems like newer cars are almost impossible to maintain yourself.
