Blend Door - Josh?

Josh, I understand you had a blend door problem as well... did you have to remove the dash to replace it? Blazee showed me the pictures you took and I am curious to know if it was difficult to fix? I pulled the plug when I felt cold air flowing (vs. extreme heat) so I have a temp solution in place. Appreciate your help.

hey bro, sorry for the delay, I havent been on much lately (i.e. - the Blazer is working at the moment aside from the blend door) lol.
Ha...I didnt realize I'd let people know about my half ass "pull-the-fuse" when you get to a comfortable temperature fix. It's in constant rotation which means its a contstant change from extreme heat to A/C. I find a happy medium for that day etc., and pull the fuse so the door stays where it is.

I still have the problem as I said man. For two main reasons.
1. I'm not 100% sure its motor as opposed the temp control panel,
2. Both are real expensive parts (dealer only) and you can't return either once purchased.

I also have a loud whine/squeak that you get everytime it rotates...this could be the motor, but is more likely the door inside rubbing. You can gently put upwards pressure on the motor with a long screwdriving and hear the noise stop when you lift on it.

I managed to get the schematic on my LT w/A/C and AUTO climate control which isn't common.....but its near impossible to remove the motor due to its close proxcimity to the dash. Theres three screws that mount it. If you remove the three screws, it comes off upwards off the shaft of the blend door. When I checked my connector with a meter I saw NO change (fluctuation in voltage) even though as soon as I plugged it into the motor it began cycling again. So there is some kind of brain in the motor itself. I think this is whats causing the constant movement....but not positive yet.

This all took a back seat when I needed to tackled the fuel spider/lower intake problem, so I havent fixed it yet. Please let me know what you find out.

Re: Blend Door - Josh?

Josh, I've been out of the country for a while and now back so I have missed out this forum... Did you ever get your blend door fixed? I am about ready to plug mine back in until the door changes to hot (since winter is practically here). If you fixed it, how tough was it and do you have any posts on it? I have been searching but have not seen anything. Thanks for your help. Scott
