Smile New Car

Hey guys, after taking some people's advice, I decided to go ahead and try out the rotary. I picked it up for $3600 (CAN) after haggling for an hour. He originally wanted $4500 for it... I must say that I'm quite impressed with how ballsy the N/A 13B can be! Here are some photos of it.

As you can see, it needs some TLC, but I'm definitely up for it. The white interior burned my eyes, but I painted most of the interior a Mazda Brilliant Black, and it's looking a lot better. It's got 94,000 kilometers on the original engine. All the parts are stock, so it was a must have for me. I want this to be my track car.. in terms of autox/solo II. Before that though, I'm going to replace the headlight cover and hood. I was thinking a carbon fiber turbo II hood and a headlight cover with the intake duct for max cooling of the engine, accompaning a new radiator. Do you guys think it might be overkill? I've heard horror stories of these cars heating up too much at the track and that's the last thing I want. I've tested the throttle body and put my hand over the intake and holy shit does that thing suck in a lot of air! A lot more than my Eclipse.

Also, I'm looking to accent my car with a few neat things.. but I don't know with what yet. Anyone have ideas of spicing up the appearance of the car without overdoing it. Like sleepy eyes, FTP removal blah blah blah (something along those lines, but something a bit more original, if you know what I mean). I'm going to be running the car stock for now during the next few meets so I can get used to the car, but from what I've seen, it's a very easy car to drive, but can still teach a lot.

I hope this project car/weekend racer turns out well!

Re: New Car

I think the t11 hoods are aluminum not carbon fiber.

I almost made the same mistake but I thought he said the stock TII hood was $600+, so don't feel bad.
