my 1997 cavalier 2.2L
hello everyone i just signed up on this forums because it looks really active and i can learn alot from it.....a few months a go i purchased a 1997 cavalier 2.2L Rally Sport...it was dirt cheap and i just needed a car.....i really liek this car but its sooo slow!! i bought a air intake system but it didnt fit so i wanted to know if some1 could find me one that they know for SURE will fit my car and will be liek under $50???

gonna b hard 2 find a kit for less than 50 bucks but if u want good quality and a really nice look ur gonna have to spend more money...

Yeah look around and try ebay, if not ur gonna be shelling out more than that. How much did u get it for if u dont mind me asking?

Shit i'm not sure you can find anything on ebay, Maybe try a muffler and a cheap install but you won't really gain any speed

I bought my car for $1650 about 2 months ago from some russians haha and it has got a salvaged title on it....
ok so i found a air intake system i liek...what u all think???

i own a 97 cavi rs five speed and my car can run pretty quick. I duno wtf the russians did to your car but with the gov chip still set at 109 i can pull that just hitting 5th gear. So um maybe you need a new motor? That is a nice intake though.

haha, i have the same problem, the governor kicks in before i can even shift into 5th

First of all you can get a intake of eby for like $40 not including shipping. And second sucks for you guys whos cars only hit 108-109  I topped mine at a buck 17. I know its not that much but still....
