hello everyone i just signed up on this forums because it looks really active and i can learn alot from it.....a few months a go i purchased a 1997 cavalier 2.2L Rally Sport...it was dirt cheap and i just needed a car.....i really liek this car but its sooo slow!! i bought a air intake system but it didnt fit so i wanted to know if some1 could find me one that they know for SURE will fit my car and will be liek under $50???

gonna b hard 2 find a kit for less than 50 bucks but if u want good quality and a really nice look ur gonna have to spend more money...

i own a 97 cavi rs five speed and my car can run pretty quick. I duno wtf the russians did to your car but with the gov chip still set at 109 i can pull that just hitting 5th gear. So um maybe you need a new motor? That is a nice intake though.

haha, i have the same problem, the governor kicks in before i can even shift into 5th

First of all you can get a intake of eby for like $40 not including shipping. And second sucks for you guys whos cars only hit 108-109 :lol: I topped mine at a buck 17. I know its not that much but still....

i know this post is like 10 days old...but it had to do with what I was going to ask..so let me tact on my 2 cents....The governor... NOT ASKING HOW TO REMOVE IT...just asking, It kicks in at 108 or 109 right? that's what i've heard like everywhere. However my car managed to go 113 the other day....so..either my speedo is wrong or it was somehow removed..

I bought this car, it had been wrecked before, so perhaps something they did might have dissabled the sensor?

if the sensor was disabled your speedo wouldnt work at all, neither would your odometer, you should have kept going to see how far it actually would have gone, i cant explain that however

Actually I was racing around on the tollway with some friends and I called they guy next to me to ask him how fast I was going since his speedo went to 150.

I could have asked the guy in the skyline that my and my cousin were racing last night on the highway (wouldnt have helped though since we werent in my cavy lol)......but we couldnt keep up with him lol Now I know you probably wont believe me but there was a yellow skyline along with a couple vettes, 350z, nissan sentra SE-R or whatever its called, and a couple boosted civics, they were all hanging out at mall and then left so we decided to follow them.
