I've never seen it, but I am not saying it hasn't been done. A 5.0L/302 would be more cost effective/easier and would yield a greater amount of torque. But the 4.6L would probably do pretty good in a small Ranger considering it's OHC design. The only thing that comes to mind, is how actually big the motor is. It's actually quite a bit heavier than the 5.0L. I am not sure if it's going to fit, or at least I know you'll have issues with the steering. Defintely a much bigger motor.
