I'm changing out the motor on my '98 neon with a lower mileage '96 motor. The '96 has a metal (rusting) oil pan while the '98 has a nice aluminum one.

Can I switch these? and will the bolt pattern all match up?

All first gen oil pans are interchangable. Make sure you get the surface nice and clean and free of any old gasket material.
