my dynasty
first of all consider this:
i currently drive a '91 Dynasty w/ 2.5L-I4 and 3spd auto
my buddy drives a '96 neon 2.0 dohc, 5spd, mopar clutch, firestones
i race him on the back roads (yes he does beat me, but not too bad)
the mods my car has are:
removed hubcaps for the summer ('cause i lost one)
throatier sounding napa muffler w/ no end pipe
bosche platinum +4 plugs (engine is going in my k-car eventually)
not much else, no heavy bulky stereo equipment
this is more of a luxo car than my Aries, and yet no pwr locks?!
the car goes good as a daily driver, but i got something better:
'86 Aries LE wagon 2.5L 3spd auto
every option except gawdawful woodgrain and pwr windows (perfect!)
brakes - caravan fronts, spirit r/t rear discs, dodge truck mast. cylinder
splitfire dual core wires, 60k volt ignition coil, shd rear springs
jcwhitney glasspack-style turbo muffler, 15inch "pizza wheels"
rear track widened 2 inches w/ custom made spacers under hub assy's
the Aries weighs a good 600lbs less than the Dynasty (hehe)
future mods:
rebuild & spiff up drivetrain from dynasty, swap into k-wagon
comes w/ roller cam, hd block, hd tranny w/ lock up torque converter
install Mopar Performance auto tranny shift improver kit
c/s daytona 1-1/4inch front sway bar, weld shut rear axle "U" channel
rear aux. air springs, gas-charged racing shocks on rear
this car will never be a match for my buddy's neon, but it should make for a fun ride. I beleive there is more to performance than engine parts alone, plus this baby won't pick up the cops any faster than any other econobox car on the road these days!
