Transmission fluid change

I got his 1991 cavalier and has 155K miles on it, still running strong though. Never changed transmission fluid EVER on this car for over 155 K miles. Would it be a good idea to change the tranny fluid now?????

Re: Transmission fluid change

hmmmm, good question.

at this point stay away from tranny fluid FLUSHES!

I want to say with fluid that old, to change it, but with that many miles, sometimes changing the fluid can cause problems, because it gets "used" to that fluid in there.

If you do decide to change the fluid, only drain it, and replace the tranny filter if it has one, and refill with the correct fluid(probabaly dexron III)

Just what ever you do DONT FLUSH!!!
