won't start

1988 944 turbo 70,000 miles Water was in oil head reworked at top machine shop new oil cooler gasket kit started right up idle was high ran great went several short trips about 10 miles quit renning on freeway won,t start cranks up to 3000 rpm then falls off its getting spark and fuel any sugertions?? fuel regulator? location sensor? timing sensor?? 59 Chevy

You must have 3 elements for any gas internal combusttin engine to run (fuel, spark and compression). It may be helpful to check your compresion in all four cylinders.
