1992 s-10 blazer questions (IAC? and Tranny?)roadxing 04-23-2006, 03:57 PM First of all this is an 1992 blazer, with the 4.3L Vortec engine and 4x4. read codes and got 35. looked it up and said something about the IAC. what is the iac and is there anything special about this code? Another question is about the automatic tranny. how do i put a new one in w/ the transfer case still attached without having to drop the exhaust. i pull it out and just removed the tranfer case and the book says they come out/in as an assembly. i cant get enough clearence with the tranfer case on. thanks for the help!! Markgc 04-23-2006, 07:37 PM Idle Air Control - it is an electrical device screwed into the side of the throttle body which has an intenal piston that can be electrically driven in or out to control the amount of air deliverd around the throttle buterflies to the engine. It controls the idle engine speed. Mark 83T/A98Blazer 04-23-2006, 09:33 PM I always pull the transfer case and tranny separately. The transfer case is light enough that you shouldn't need a jack, the tranny is HEAVY and will require a jack. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
