ZJ Control arm brokenCaribbean ZJ 04-19-2006, 04:53 PM well guys, today i finally saw what was making that clanking sound when hitting small bumps. My right front contol arm started tearing apart from the where the bushing is housed. WTF! Anyone ever had that happen? How much would a new arm cost me. What about welding? Thanks fredjacksonsan 04-20-2006, 10:04 AM I'd replace, rather than weld. With a weld you're likely to have the geometry off enough to ruin your alignment. Caribbean ZJ 04-20-2006, 12:21 PM how much for a new one? My friends got an old wagoneer in d junk yard, would dat fit fredjacksonsan 04-20-2006, 12:24 PM how much for a new one? My friends got an old wagoneer in d junk yard, would dat fit :dunno: on both. Check your local junkyard, and/or compare with the wagoneer(if the wagoneer's full size, won't fit) Caribbean ZJ 04-21-2006, 08:58 AM Anyone else? bringselpup 04-22-2006, 05:21 PM On Ebay right now upper=$30 lower=$39 Caribbean ZJ 04-24-2006, 10:11 AM thanks man Caribbean ZJ 05-04-2006, 05:33 PM i replace the arm today. Brand new with Bushings. The differnce is night and day. No More Rattling over bumps and no more vering to the right when the steering it let up. The old Arm was completly torn on on side of the rear bushing bracket. cant believe they used that thin piece of metal on such a heavy jeep. Caribbean ZJ 05-04-2006, 05:33 PM i replace the arm today.
