must be something minor....
was driving on the way to work this morning, coming down the off-ramp-the CEL popped on.
it felt a little sluggish while trying to speed up--but not too bad.
my 2 guesses are to clean the PCV and to clearn the EGR. any other guesses as to what it might be. it runs the same--no other issues. it popped on last weeke for about a minute--until my wife sped up to pass a truck--then it went off.
i haven't had the code read yet.

It usally means a miss-fire. It is off again I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Re: must be something minor....
Might be time for new sparks.
Can't hurt though, to clean the pcv, throttle body, and EGR.
Takes 2 minutes TOPS to clean the PCV - I just take mine out, spray it with some air intake/throttle cleaner, let it air dry for a minute or so, pop it back in.
To clean the EGR, take off your whole air intake tubing along with your EGR valve and clean your throttle body at the same time, probably kind of nasty!
This might take you bout an hour or so, depending on how nasty - use the same air intake/throttle cleaner to clean both the throttle body as well as the EGR. You do NOT have to take apart the throttle body if you chose not to, just clean it while it's on the truck.

Re: must be something minor....
good to know. i think the pcv might be dirty. the egr and throttle probably could use a good cleaning.
thanks for the info. i'll go get the codes read tonight and report back--hopefully nothing major.
i need to just go by my own code reader....

Re: must be something minor....
How's your IMG? Any rough idling or stalling? I find it hard to believe that both post-cat O2's are bad at the same time. Maybe try cleaning the EGR, PCV and the MAF and see what happens. Keep an eye on the IMG's, I got a couple of those codes when mine went.

You've got a bad connection going on for the downstream O2's. The fuel/air deal is probably MAF related. MAF is the #1 fuel trim controller on this engine. Ever had anything other than OEM style airfilters on her?

i'll have to check the connections. the cel light is currently off right now--but that may change as it sees fit...
i have a fram (stock) air filter i changed out about 2 months ago with roughly 2000 miles on it now. i don't think the previous owner had a k&N or any other oiled airfilter.--that i know of. the filter i replaced was a fram.

Re: must be something minor....
I use non chlorinated brake cleaner to clean them. It doesnt leave any residue behind like carb cleaner does. Mine was already really clean but after taking it out I decided to clean it anyways.
