Question please answer...Blazer95 04-18-2006, 08:14 PM Ok so I found I 99 Impreza 2.5 RS for a nice low price, but the catch is a reconstructed title.. I am worried about that. Should I be? The owner says that it has all been fixed to mint condition, and passed inspection. It was totalled in a front end collision. Would any former frame damage be a problem if it was fixed good? Would the frame end up warping on me? Also would adding any mods be too much torque or pressure on the frame that has been fixed? Thanks in advance. Kyle freakray 04-18-2006, 08:46 PM Yes, most definitely be worried about a reconstructed title. Front end write off is serious, not just from a subframe standpoint but also transmission. You don't know what damage occurred to the engine in the collision, replacing a belt cover or few cracked pulleys during rebuild may not remedy a stress fracture in the shortblock or elsewhere in the engine - think of the cost if this revealed itself when you own the car. Not only could the car be a risk to your safety, insurance companies consider reconstructed titles a liability and your insurance rate will be higher. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
