89 camaro fuel problem

I have an 89 350 TPI IROC, I've had probelms stalling out but only when the outside temp. is over about 75. The car starts to make a humming noise coming from around the fuel pump area, and you get a really strong smell of gas around the engine, maybe vapor lock?? When the car is at an idle it runs fine, but when given any gas it sputters and stalls out. The temp. of the engine seems to be fine. I replaced the fuel injectors about 3 years ago, also added fuel regulator which is running at 40 psi. The thermostat, fan switch, fuel filter and pump have been replaced, along with the distributer and wires.

Any help is greatly appricated, I'm lost on this problem its been going on for about a year now

Re: 89 camaro fuel problem

Maybe charcol canister filter?
and try adding some LUCUS fuel additive...if that doesnt help, you may need to change your fuel pump again...

Re: 89 camaro fuel problem

since it is temperature realted I'd point at the IAT (intake air sensor) first. Try checking for codes, it might have set a soft code for you that dosn't trip the check engine light.

Also keeping it simple for sec, make sure your air filters and snorkel aren't clogged, grocery bags end up in the damndest of places when airborne.
