Tranny problems???????

I have a 2000 Sportage with 125k miles. When it is cold the trans shifts fine into 1st and 2nd but will not go into 3rd or OD until it gets warm. After its warm it shifts great. I changed filter and fluid but no change. Could I be using the wrong fuild? Thanks

Re: Tranny problems???????

this is normal. mine does the same thing. takes about a mile, then it's ok. If you need a 2wd tranny, I have one with 17k from a 200k sportage I would love to get out of my garage. I bouught it thinking I needed it, turned out I didn't.

Re: Tranny problems???????

IT will not get in 4th and TCC until the engine warms up over 140F: this is computer controlled. However, 3rd gear is not normally impaired by lo temp.
