15 I was watching an infomercial on TV the other day and saw something called a ding king. For 30 bucks or soething like that you can easily remove any dent, it claims. it seemed like it might be a good deal. i was wondering if anyone out there has it and if it works as well as its supposed to.

There was a thead about this over at focaljet.com. Some guy said he pulled 5 dings out of his car. I don't know if I buy it. I probably depends on the make of the car, type of sheetmetal, size and depth of the dent, and how much patience you have. You see, sometimes you have to do the whole procedure more than mone on the same spot.

I'd probably leave this to the professionals...

I agree with dLocke, usually if something is too good to be true-- like a paintless dent remover for 30 bucks, it is too good to be true, and i remember seeing a commercial for that, and the hood they used to demonstrate it on looked like nothing more than a very well shaped piece of aluminum which they painted, dented and used as a test panel, if you ask me its bogus and you should check around for a respectable paintless dent removal place, there are those out there that are pretty decent when it comes to price, it may not be $30 dollars to remove all your dents but at least you know it will be done right.

hey. I saw the commercial on tv for the ding king and since my wife doesnt know that objects in your mirrors are closer than they appear, i picked one up. I have to admit i was pretty skeptical at first and it took a couple of pulls but it was definatly worth the 30 bucks. That kinda emphasizes "some things are too good to be true". Friend of mine got one of those and it didnt work very well at all. It pulled some of the dent but couldnt get all of it, and these dents weren't even that deep.

All I gotta say is that the ding king works, I use it on ma baby now and then and it seems to keep'er in shape:frog:

I saw the DING KING on tv....Billy Mays is obnoxious. Why does he scream so? Can't he see the mic right there over his head? ANywAys..

I see this new wonder tool. Wonder because I WONDER if it works. Saw it in Wal-Mart. 25 bucks. Uh uh. Saw it the other day 16 bucks. I got it. What the hell.....cheaper than a pizza at Pizza Hut.

The gods smiled on me and the chick didn't scan the dang thing when I checked out. I realized it when I got to the car after looking at my change. OH WELL......... so my Ding King was free. (phooey on all of you who are thinking I should have taken it back and told them) I've been jipped enough in the past, this is my gift for all those times.

I take it out and look it over with it's very minimal directions......which do NOT have any BE CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS:....type of warnings.

It worked great on my sunroof. 95 Prelude which is like my only child, so yes I was very hesitant to take anything to her paint......but it worked. The hail dents on my sun roof, about the size of a quarter are all but gone. You have to repeat the process a few times, but be very careful, or you'll pull the metal UP. Turning the dent inside out!!! (sort of what streets and roads department does to pot-holes in my city)

Got to my hood which has had a dent along the hood line down the middle.....anyway, it's not that bad but I know it was there and always wanted it gone. So I think, this will work....it sort of worked, but one thing not mentioned which I want everyone to know is this:

IF YOU USE TOO LITTLE OF THE GLUE OR YOU MOVE THE DENT TOOL AROUND WHEN PLACING IT ON THE DENT WHILE THE GLUE IS HOT, IT SPREADS THIN AND WHEN YOU APPLY THE REVERSE TORQUE TO PULL THE DENT OUT, THE PLASTIC EDGE OF THE DENT REMOVER PIECE WILL GOUGE THROUGH THE PAINT AND LEAVE A FREAKIN NASTY SCRAPE IN THE PAINT,,THROUGH THE PAINT TO THE METAL....BE VERY VERY VERY VERY AWARE OF THIS........IT SUCKS TO HAVE NO MORE DENT AND A REAL NICE SCRATCH IN ITS PLACE.

This product may work. but never perfectly. When sheet metal is dented it slightly stretches so it can never be the exact same shape as before, without bodywork. Keep in mind this really only applies to larger dents, small dents may not stretch the metal any significant amount.
