This is the current VW Gol, a small hatchback made in Brasil for South America and some other countries. It has a price of about US$10000 in there, and it comes with a 1.8 100HP engine. The only problem is that they are some what unsafe, since the car dates from the 90ī

why is everybody talking all this stuff about me, why donīt just they let me live?
Besides engine power and engine size, what are the main differences between the safety of American Golfs and these Euro/African Gols. I can tell there appears to be a flimsy body style to that Gol basic, sorta like a basic honda () But are you talking unsafe like the Israeli Mini Coop, or are you talking unsafe like Saturn?
Volkswagen has a lot of old cars in production all around the world.
In South Africa the still produce the T3 Bus, the A1 Golf and a Polo Sedan.
They still produce the Old Beetle in Mexico, as well as the Derby and Pointer.
In South America [Argentina, Brazil] they make the Gol, the Saveiro and the Polo Sedan.

In western africa almost 40% of cars are the old beetle.
The Gol is just the VW Fox under a different name.
The Fox was actually given a different name for each area of the world it was sent to.
The names its been known under include, Fox, Gol, Voyage, Parati, Saveiro, Gacel, Senda, and Amazon. They were all BX platform cars and all used the same 83hp 1.8L engine and were all built in Brazil. Even the Wolfsburg editions.
I own an '88 Fox and its a great car except for the little electronic bits breaking down. :sun:
