Unhappy DIC, AC, Fan turning off - 97 GTP

Hello, I am having a strange eletrical problem with my 1997 GTP. Sometimes when I'm driving ,my Driver infomation center, air conditioning, fan and day running headlights will turn off. Sometimes they don't come on at all when I start the car.

With experimentation, I've noticed that if I start the car with the fan in the "off" position, I have better luck of having everything work. But sometimes when I changed the fan from "off" to "1" the things shut down again.

I was able to put up with this during the winter, but it's starting to get warm outside and it's tougher to live without the air It is a strange feeling when you're driving at night and all of sudden your headlights turn off!

I'm not sure where to start! Relay? Ignition switch?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for the fast reply! I was afraid it was the ignition switch. After searching I found you posted some DIY instructions for replacing it a while ago; think I'll give them a try!

Thanks again!

You're welcome. I've got a lot of posts on the issue. Glad you found it.

Give it a try. Saves money on labor. Procedure works and a lot of us have used it. Replace the ignition switch and harness and you'll be back on the road again. Good luck!
