My gas pedal is hard to push. I have used WD40 on the cable under the dash, and when it comes out of the cable jacket under the hood.
It feels like the spring on the throttle body is really tight. Do they have a tension screw to adjust?

Your throttle body shaft may be worn and binding. Try moving it by hand from under the hood, it should move freely and smoothly. You can grab the throttle shaft and wiggle it, checking for side play that could cause binding. If the throttle shaft checks out, your cable could be frayed internally causing your hard to push pedal.
