Engine Problems!

Hello All,

My 106 has been off of the road for the last 6 mths and now its being driven again the engine keeps cutting out when the revs are low. When driving a while it'll be ok. I thought it was just because the car hadn't been used for a while and didn't want to take to a mechanic who will charge the earth to fix something that isn't wrong!!

So any ideas? Or should I take it to the garage?

Thanks

hiya! theres only me seeming to help in here and no one help me.. erm but anyway.. i have come across your sort of problem on other cars not just a peugeot. The most certain reason for your car cutting out is your spark plugs. The best thing to do is replace them or get them replaced. They will cost around £30 i think and then cost of fitment. Hope that helps... Let me know. Thanks and good luck.

Re: Engine Problems!

I have the exact same problem. At first I thought it was because the tickover was too low, so I moved the cable holder up 1 notch to slightly increase revs.

It wasn't that though. I find the plugs are weird - as a karter I'm used to the single sided plug - not the double sided - where it has 2 contact points rather than 1.

I might have to try that because it's really bugging me.
