1991 lumina trouble starting / makes horrible noise!need help!chefpep 04-12-2006, 11:21 PM About 2 months ago my 1991 euro 3.1 stalled , and wouldnt fire up.I parked it and forgot about.Today i charged the old battery and was playing around with the car .I found that it had no oil ( doesnt leak oil) and the anti freeze overflow (it was filled with a thick muddy like liquid. So first thing i did was add oil , then i took out the anti freeze over-flow and cleaned it.After doing that i finnaly got it to start! So i took it for a spin and i stalled twice , luckily i was able to fire it back up.When i got back home and parked it i left it on for about 10 mins and then stepped on the gas and it stalled , and then smoked abit. Anyone know why its stalling ? It also makes a horrible banging noise and the back smokes and smells horribly! Im thinking i blew a gasket , im not sure so please all help is appriciated. The engine only has 86,000 miles. richtazz 04-13-2006, 01:08 PM running it with no oil toasted the crank bearings, so you engine is done. The banging you hear is the rod hitting the crank. chefpep 04-13-2006, 05:29 PM I figured it was that or i blew a gasket , thanks for your help. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
